Aman Setu - The Bridge of Peace
The Madhavi Kapur Foundation has conceptualised, financed and set up a beautiful school - Aman Setu in Pune. Aman Setu is set in Wagholi, and is within easy reach by car and bus.
Drive down the undulating Wagholi-Lohegaon Road with fields stretching
on either side till you reach a picturesque little cottage standing out
against the wide sky. Here you will find the pre-primary and primary school
of everybody's dreams.
The school has plans to go up to Standard 10 in a
few years and it follows the ICSE syllabus.
The school is housed in a stone farmhouse, a round kaleidescope made from bamboo and earth bag (a new eco-friendly concept, this is a mixture of earth, sand, grit and very little cement), a magic school bus and a Rocket and a rabbit hole. It also features a pond teeming with fish, frogs and turtles.
Here children will have the advantage of a natural and soothing environment in spite of being citizens of a burgeoning city like Pune. The home grown, integrated curriculum provides large windows for creative activities and spontaneous self expression.
The policy is to carefully include children of varying linguistic, religious and socio-economic backgrounds as well as children of different abilities. As a result our students have a healthy respect for differences.
Admissions are open for Play Group to Standard IV for the academic year starting June 2010.
